Any way to fix cracked wire frame gles?

I know the answer is likely No, but does anyone know of any way to get a solid repair to thin metal wire frame gles when the wire frame gets a crack in it? My favorite frames cracked recently on the top edge close to where it meets the wire bridge piece across top of the nose - Wondering if there is any "super" metal type glue that might work - its such a small thin piece of wire I am doubting it. I took them to the optometrist shop where I bought them a couple yrs ago & they said can't be repaired, would have to order a new frame. I tried tape but it just can't wrap the thin wire properly nor can the tape grip & hold it strongly enough. Thanks for any tips if someone has ever had success fixing metal frame gles.
