Child led potty training?

Mine is 27 months old as well - also as bright as a on but with little interest in potty training. We have bought her 'fairy' pants - pants with fairies on them, a Fifi potty, and promised her a scooter if she can go on the toilet or potty. Sometimes she'll sit on the potty but won't do anything and then announce that she has tried but she's just not really motivated to do it regardless of our attempts. I've come to the conclusion that if that's all we've got to worry about we're pretty lucky really. My mum reckons we should just leave it until the summer when they're not wearing so much and it's not such a big deal if they do wet themselves and I think that's what I'm going to do. Remember 2 1/2 is the new 2!
